Bailey's Story

Maggie helped a novice turn into a real dog owner! I fell madly in love with my puppy when he was a week old -- an acquaintance's dog had gotten pregnant, and I decided right then and there to get a puppy -- never mind I had no experience with it. When I picked Bailey up at 10 weeks old, it became clear that he was massively undersocialized and fearful.

Something in me must have realized that I might be over my head, as I called Maggie before I got him. She was quickly able to recognize the signs of what could have been long term issues for him, and to set me on a path to getting him socialized before the initial 16-week socialization window closed.

Fast forward to almost two years later: he's happy, well adjusted and, when this COVID-19 nightmare is over, may even work as a therapy dog in partnership with me, as he's actually now quite fond of people, particularly older folks. Thank you, Maggie!
